Portrait of Inna Melnyk, Psychoanalytic Counsellor

Inna Melnyk

Psychoanalytic Counsellor

I am Inna Melnyk, a psychoanalytic counsellor working with individuals and groups in Barcelona and online.

People come to me with anxiety, relationship difficulties, loneliness, loss, migration experiences and professional uncertainty. Some feel trapped in the same story repeating itself with different people. Others have built a life that looks successful from the outside, yet no longer feels entirely their own. And some come simply because they want to understand themselves better — without a specific crisis behind it.

Ever since I was a child, I have carried many questions about myself, about the people around me, and about why things happen the way they do. But I didn't yet have the words for it. Years later, I came across psychoanalysis almost by chance and found in it a language for the questions that had been with me all along. Over time, it gave me a different way of seeing — myself, others, the reasons behind things. My own analysis changed me too — it gave me a foundation within myself and a new, deeper understanding of myself and others. Eventually, what began as a personal search became my profession.

Originally from Ukraine and now based in Barcelona, I have lived and worked across different cultures and languages. This experience has shaped my understanding of migration, identity and belonging — not only professionally, but personally.

I work in Ukrainian, Russian and English, online and in person in Barcelona.

You do not need to know exactly what you are looking for, or how to explain what you are experiencing, before contacting me. Sometimes therapeutic work begins with a clear question. Sometimes it begins only with the feeling that something needs to change.
